What a great day!! We got out the door a bit earlier than yesterday and headed back to the popular hike of Fish Creek Falls/Uranium Mine. They are both accessed from the same parking spot – daily usage fees are $5…pay online if its busy!! Much quicker!! Also, if both parking lots are full, park on the right side of the road as you are heading back downhill!!
We started with Uranium Mine and then did the Falls Creek overlook and then right up close….HIGHLY recommend if in the area. Uranium Mine was a little hot at times but manageable. Glad that we started with the hot part! We also decided to do some rafting down the Yampa River…it was running really fast. Paddleboard Adventures had a good rate and availability…SOOO glad we decided to do this…although it was COLD!! 84 degrees gets cold real quick when mountain snow runoff water hits you full force in the face!! I loved every minute of it!! At one point Chad did show a bit of hesitation…lots of people were pulling out of the river before the really fun part. We went right by them and I told him it would all be good…later he agreed!!
