Monday May 6 – Thursday May 9, 2022
Family is everything and being able to go to our nephew’s graduation this year was great! Unfortunately, we all missed his older brother Max’s graduation in 2020, because of Covid. We are relieved and grateful to be able to spend time with both of them this year!!
Chad’s cousin, Jack and his wife Kelsey came over for dinner on Monday at E&J’s. They have a gorgeous baby girl – Janie is only 1 month old and so tiny!! She was an angel with us all evening and let us all hold her for hours…I later heard that she didn’t sleep at all that night. Sorry guys!! We loved meeting her and being able to see them anyway!!
Bebe LOVED playing with her cousin dogs…Ace and Dillon. They are great friends from the lake.
Charlie graduated from Kent Denver High School. What a nice ceremony and the day could not have been better. Kent’s grounds are just beautiful and the ceremony so personalized! It was fun to see all the Denver Hewitt’s living their lives and chatting with their friends. We are so grateful to spend time with not only our family but Jennie’s parents and brother David too!
We went hiking on Wednesday at Mount Falcon Park outside Denver with E&J and Max. Ace and Bebe were worn out by the time we made it home! Chad and I were on our own for the afternoon/evening as Addie had a banquet for gymnastics and there were also graduation parties and concerts at Red Rock. We didn’t mind one bit…E&J recommended a bike ride that we could do right from their house. The High Line Canal Trail is amazing! It is a crushed gravel trail going by some gorgeous homes right in Denver but you feel like you are in the wilderness. We ended up going nearly 31 miles out and back.
We spent the rest of the evening hanging out in E&J’s amazing backyard trying to get caught up on the blog. It is time consuming and there is a real learning curve to doing this! Plus we’ve been so busy, we have been exhausted at night! I love being able to sit outside without being eaten alive by mosquitos!! Even when I have gotten a bite here, they don’t itch! Minnesota mosquitos are the worst, I get chased inside all the time and I still have welts that itch for a week or more!
Very fun!
